Tour of Tierra del Fuego National Park: Tierra del Fuego National Park lies just 12km west of Ushuaia and occupies an area of 630 sq. kms. Within the park you can find bushes, beech trees, box-leafed barberries and flowers such as orchids, violets and many other species. A close encounter with to mother nature while you are driven around the mountains to see and photograph the peat bogs and beaver dams and finally arriving at Lapataia River. Crossing the river, you’ll have a nice view of Laguna Verde and spot the upland geese and ibis that come to the park every summer. A walk along the path up to Laguna Negra or the Beavers Path is recommended, for close up view of these curious animals. At Lapataia Bay, it’s possible to see the area where the old inhabitants of the Island left their testimony. Also visit the Yamana Kitchen, an interesting archaeological site. You last stop is in front of Lake Roca, where the colors vary according to the weather.
